Ils
ont surtout l'air de bien s'amuser à fabriquer des petites bombes de
2.30 avec casios + guitares + boîtes à rythmes qui vont très très vite.
Leurs paroles sont fabuleuses !!!!!
Un gros coup de coeur !!!

indiepages : This EP is actually just a collection of older songs
taken from this
Swedish duo's past self-released EPs, which I find kind of funny,
because surely these aren't their only good songs? Regardless, this 12
minute disc is packed with fun music that sounds like a cross between
the speedy jangle (and bombastic drum machine sound) of Dorotea and the
synthy playfulness of the Besties. One of the more recent songs, "Theme
Song", even has an early Wedding Present quality to it, thanks to the
guitar sound and the slightly extended outro (featuring said guitars).
Their lyrics are frequently just as fun as the music, with the stories
told in "You And Me In A Rented Car, Two Small Bags And A Plastic
Guitar" and the autobiographical "Theme Song" (also note the silly
graphs and scores of the songs on the sleeve). I do hope there's lots
more where this came from!

Utah Rangers are a Swedish duo. Old Statistics is a compilation of sorts containing recordings made in 2006 and 2007 taken from their self released CDR's.The
music is reminiscent of some of the indie/dance crossover bands from
the early 1990's mixed with sounds that their contemporaries in Sweden
make. These include The Strip Squad, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names
and the Tough Alliance to name but a few.It's the swirl of
guitars, drums, synths and vocals that live life in the fast lane that
give these songs a sense of excitement and drive. Over the 12 minutes
here these songs take you on an exhausting ride through beats and
melodies with barely time for the listener to pause for breath between
each one before play is pressed again. An audio adrenaline rush!

quelques minutes lancer
des bribes de couleurs et repris le dessus sur une mornitude musicale
qui
semblait s'installer depuis peu. Y vais-je
peut-être avec un peu trop
d'enthousiasme, l'endroit dépourvu de joie mais empli de calme dans
lequel j'ai
pu entendre les extraits y est très certainement pour quelque chose
dans le
fait que les ritournelles d'Utah
Rangers ont
braqué illico presto sur ma tempe un Derringer
m'empêchant de bouger
devant tant de si bonnes mélodies simplissimes. Allez dont voir
sur leur myspace
les quelques titres
qui traînent encore sont de bonnes factures et vous laisseront un peu
de temps
avant une possible prochaine écoute de leur musique.
